I have been living in Jersey City for last 5 years and finding a good Mexican restaurant has always been a task. Although there are few that are good but nothing with lots of vegetarian or vegan options. I am glad to say that we finally found one that we really liked. We visited Gringo’s last week and we loved everything about this restaurant.

The ambiance was very cute and they had a truck inside the restaurant that gave it a fun vibe. They also have an outdoor space that has plenty of seatings. The food tasted really good and yes this restaurant had good amount of vegetarian and vegan options, we will need to return back to try more things on their menu. The only thing that we did not like was their drink although the menu looked very good.

We got their “What A Paloma” cocktail, that should have watermelon, fresh lime ,grapefruit and tequila but only thing we could taste was tequila and nothing else. We are not sure how the other drinks taste but we were not a fan of this one. For appetizer we got their Guacamole that was made fresh and tasted very good. The salsas were fresh and tasted very delicious. We also got their Grilled Corn Esquites that was served fresh with lime mayo and the creaminess of mayo added balance to the corn that was perfectly grilled. I highly recommend trying this when you visit the restaurant. For main course we got “Look Mom I’M Vegan” tacos that had crispy brussels sprouts with mayo, and the calabaza puree tasted so delicious. We also got their “Buffalo Soldier” taco that was made with tempura cauliflower with buffalo sauce and ranch crema and this one was my favorite. The cauliflower was crunchy and all the flavors in the taco came together so well. For dessert we got their Churros that were made in house and were super crispy and their Rice Pudding with crisp sugar top tasted so rich and we have never tried anything like this before. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are in jersey city area.
