Ever since we came back from Spain, we were craving to go to a Tapas place that has good amount of vegetarian options. We finally made it to Boqueria as it has been on my list to try for past few years. This restaurant exceeded our expectations with the food and lot of their dishes reminded us of our trip to Barcelona.

The ambiance is very lively and they have comfortable outdoor seating. We visited the Flatiron location and they have 4 locations in the city. The outdoor seating is spaced well and they have cute string lights hanging from the roof.

They have an extensive drink menu and we got their Sangria. This was not the best Sangria we had but it tasted refreshing. They had Sangria available in many flavors and they were not able to modify it as everything was premixed. Everything we ordered for food tasted so delicious. We started with Patatas Bravas that was made fresh. The potatoes were super crispy from outside and soft from inside. The aioli and seasoning on the top went so well with the potatoes. The next dish we ordered was Pan con Tomate. This is served in most spanish restaurants as an appetizer. The crusty bread topped juicy tomatoes and light seasoning. This tasted so delicious and it did remind us of Barcelona. We also got their Asparagus with Romesco sauce. The asparagus was grilled to perfection and it was topped with hazelnut aioli, lemon zest and shredded cheese. This tasted so delicious as the crunchiness from asparagus was balanced by smooth aioli. Escalivada that is fire roasted eggplants and labne yogurt served with flat bread was one of our favorite dishes. The labne was seasoned so well and it was topped with fresh herbs, the eggplant had a hint of spice and the crunchy flat bread just made this a perfect dish. I highly recommend trying this when you visit the restaurant. For dessert we got their Crema Catalana that is a custard topped with caramelized sugar and Churros Rellenos. The Crema Catalana tasted ok to me as I am not a huge fan of custards. The Churros were outstanding, I have to say probably one of the best Churros I had in NYC. These Churros were served fresh and they were filled nutella. The combination played so well with the textures as crispy churros was filled with smooth chocoal. My mouth is watered as I am typing this and I give these churros 10/10. My husband who is not a fan of Churros loved it. I highly recommend trying these if you were to visit this restaurant.

The service was very good, the server was very clear on things they could modify from beginning. The food came quickly. They were able to accommodate the churros without cinnamon as my husband is not  fan of cinnamon. Over all we were very happy and we are definitely returning back to checkout their other vegetarian options on the menu.
