Verde Sauce
Every time I visit a Mexican restaurant, I order Verde Sauce as it is not readily available at grocery stores. So here is my recipe of the Verde Sauce that can be easily made at home. This tangy and spicy sauce is full of flavors. It is a versatile sauce that can be paired so well with many food items such as Salads, Sandwiches. Rice and Veggies. The sauce stores very well in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. The more it sits, the more flavorful it gets.Jain version can be made skipping the garlic and onions. You can skip the water and use food processor to make the salsa verde with same ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 lb tomatillo
- 1/2 white onion
- 6/7 serrano peppers
- 2 jalapeños optional
- salt as needed
- 7 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 7 cups water
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp cumin powder

Instructions
- Boil 6 cups of water on stove. Slice tomatillos and Serrano in 1/2 and let them boil in water for 10 minutes (only use jalapeños if you want spicy version)

- Once the tomatillos are boiled turn off the heat and strain them and let it cool
