Apple Raita
My mom made variety of Raitas especially when we had family get together (Jamadvaar) We grew up eating this Apple Raita that tasted tart and crunchy and it was one of our favorites. This can be paired with parathas or rice dish. We also added this raita in our Thali to complete the meal. The raita has all the flavors, spicy, sweet and salty and has the perfect crunch. I am sure you will love this one as much as we do.
Ingredients
- 2 cups yogurt can use fat free for healthier version
- 1/2 cup red apple diced into small pieces
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon roasted cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- Black salt as needed
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 4-5 apple slices to decorate
Instructions
- In a bowl whisk the yogurt
- Dice the apple into small pieces
- Add the red chili powder, black salt, sugar and roasted cumin powder to the yogurt
- Add diced apple and cilantro to the yogurt and mix it together
- Garnish with apple slices and cilantro and you chill the raita for few hours before serving
