Ped which is made out of edible gum, ginger powder and long pepper powder tastes so delicious and is nutritious during winter time. I was born and raised in Jain Gujarati family and my Baa ate Ped very often. It helps prevent our body from catching cold of cough and gives our body strength. My grandmother ate 1 tablespoon of Ped during cold days and also after upvaas to help regain the strength. My mom also made Ped for me when I was nursing. The fats in the Ped helps the milk production and gives essential nutrition to the baby.

Recipe

Ped | Gundar ni Ped | Edible Gum Halwa

Gundar ni Ped also called Gond ka Halwa tastes so delicious. My Dadi always said that eat 1 tablespoon of this and it will help your body fight diseases and regain strength. This recipe is close to my heart as it has been passed on from my dadi to my mom. My mom taught me how to make it and I am sharing this with all of you. Edible Gum or Gundar is fried in the ghee and then milk is added to it. The milk then curdles and forms a thick khoya. Nuts, ginger powder and long pepper powder are then added to it and this delicious halwa is formed. It tastes so delicious and is very healthy. Checkout the recipe below.
