They are high in protein and will curb your hunger till the next meal. I like to pair them along with roasted red pepper aioli and the combo of the two is match made in heaven. The crispy tofu and creamy sauce makes an amazing healthy appetizer idea. 

Crispy Tofu Bites

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 packed extra firm tofu
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 cup vegan bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp balsamic glaze or vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup roasted red pepper aioli

Instructions
 

  • Drain the water out of tofu
  • Cut the tofu into triangle pieces of equal size and place them in a mixing bowl
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze and soy sauce over the tofu
  • Add garlic powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder and salt
  • Coat the tofu with seasoning on sides
  • In a separate pan, mix bread crumbs, salt and remaining 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • Cost the tofu with bread crumbs mixture
  • Heat a grill pan and brush it with oil or you can bake at 375 degree Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until crispy on all sides
  • Grill the tofu till it’s crispy on all sides
  • Serve the tofu hot with Roasted Red Pepper Aioli or Garnish the tofu with the roasted red pepper aioli and chopped cilantro

Notes

Make this gluten free by using gluten free Tamari instead of soy sauce and using gluten free bread crumbs
