If you are like me who runs out of protein options then you must try this Tofu and Mix Veg Sabji. You will need basic spices and I like to throw in lots of veggies with Tofu. It tastes so delicious especially when paired with rice or chapati. It’s filling and high in protein. This Gujarati twist to tofu should be added to your weekly menu.


Mix Veg Tofu Sabji

Simple and delicious high protein Sabji that is going to hit all your taste buds. Pair this along with rotli or rice and you will love this Gujarati version of tofu nu shak.

  • 1 cup firm tofu cut into pieces
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup chopped broccoli
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt as needed
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp asafetida powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin coriander powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp olive oil


  • Heat olive oil in a wide pan on medium heat
  • Once it’s hot, add mustard seeds and asafetida powder and let it sizzle
  • Add chopped onions and mix veggies and mix it well
  • Now add salt and red chili powder, turmeric powder and cumin coriander powder
  • Add tofu and mix everything well with light hand and simmer on low heat
  • After 5 minutes add tomatoes and mix again till water is absorbed
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve it along with rice or chapati
