Gujarati Green Chutney | Upvaas ni Chutney | Jain Chutney

Chutney is the most important condiment in Indian cuisine, it’s the simplest thing but it brightens up so many dishes. I serve different  types of chutneys with different things and today I am sharing recipe for Gujarati chutney.  I pair this chutney along with Dhokla, Patra, Sabudana Vada, Muthia  and Thepla and it tastes so delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Cilantro
  • 1/4 cup peanuts or almonds
  • 4-6 Green chilies
  • Salt as needed
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 ice cube

Instructions
 

  • Grind the dry peanuts or almonds in a grinder
  • In the same jar add green chilies, cumin powder, sugar and salt
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice and add ice cube
  • Only add water if needed
  • Grind it into a thick paste adjust salt and lime juice as per taste
  • Store it in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks
  • Store in freezer for 2-3 months
