Paneer Pakoda Waffles

Be it rainy weather of meeting with friends and enjoying chai or coffee, Pakodas will never get old. Here is my healthy twist to Paneer Pakodas that can be easily made in a waffle maker. You won’t even miss the fried version after trying them this way. 
I tested the recipe and you won’t believe I made several batches as they tasted so good. These are filled with chutney as it adds the extra zing to the bland paneer. The crunch and flavor in every bite will make you want to eat more. Checkout the recipe below

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of paneer
  • 2 tablespoon sandwich chutney
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil to cook
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala

Batter

  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/4 cup semolina
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp asafetida powder
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Form a thick batter using chickpea flour, semolina, turmeric, salt, red chili powder, asafetida and water and whisk it together
  • Cut the paneer into thick square cubes
  • Apply 1 tsp of chutney in between 2 paneer pieces
  • Form and sandwich with paneer and dunk them into the batter
  • Plug the waffle maker and grease with oil
  • Place the paneer Pakoda in the waffle maker
  • After 5 minutes flip and cook on the other side for 5 minutes or till brown
  • Take them out and leave them out for few minutes and reheat them for extra crunch
  • Sprinkle chaat masala
  • Enjoy them hot with chai or coffee
