Ayambil Waffles | Ayambil recipe

Shri Navpad Ayambil ni Oli is a jain festival of 9 days . Navpad stands for 9 posts in Sanskrit and during this Oli Jains pay homage to 9 supreme posts of Universe. The Oli is followed twice a year and both occur during seasonal changes. The scientific reason for the Oli is to detoxify the body and meditate to give benefits to mind, body and soul.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup yellow moong dal soaked in water for few hours
  • Balwan Salt as needed
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp hing powder asafetida

Instructions
 

  • Soak the moong dal for few hours
  • One the dal is soft, drain the water and add salt, black pepper powder and hing powder
  • Grind it in a blender jar and add water if needed to form a thick batter
  • Turn on the waffle maker and let it heat
  • Pour the batter in the waffler maker and let it cook
  • After 7 minutes, open and flip the waffle
  • Cook for another 7 minutes
  • Serve the waffles with Dalia ni Chutney
